Yang Yongliang

Yang Yongliang was born in 1980 Shanghai, China. He begun to study Chinese traditional painting, calligraphy and other various traditional art forms at a very early age and last for ten years. In 1999 he got a BA degree of Visual Communication from China Academy of Fine Art, Shanghai. And then he founded his art studio, as the same time he has worked as a teacher at the Shanghai Institute of Vision Art.

Since 2007, he has hold more than 20 solo exhibitions in China, USA, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Greece and Australia. Exhibitions include ‘The Peach Colony’ at 18 Galley in Shanghai, ‘Phantom Metropolis’ at Schoeni Art Gallery in Hong Kong,  ‘Heavenly City’ at Galerie Paris-Beijing in Paris, France (2010), Yang Yongliang Photography Solo Exhibition at Limn Art Gallery in San Francisco, USA (2009), ‘On the Quiet Water’ at 45 Downstairs Gallery in Melbourne, Australia (2009).

He has participated in numerous important group exhibitions including 2nd Thessaloniki Biennale in Greece (2009), 40th Anniversary of the Rencontres d’Arles in France (2009), Contemporary Chinese Art in Linm Gallery in Miami (2008), Art Now 2007 in Gyeonggido Museum of Modern Art in Korea (2007).

His works are be collected by the British Museum in London, the Bates College Museum of Art in Lewiston, Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art in Gainesville, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art of the University of Oregon in Portland and Ulrich Museum of Art of Wichita State University in Wichita.
